Counselling is a medium that helps you to explore the difficulties you have within a caring, professional and confidential environment. Counselling enables you to access the coping and managing skills needed to determine what course of action would best help you resolve your personal issues. Abate Counselling & EAP Limited operates from the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and ethical behaviour. Our policy of confidentiality ensures that any individual attending counselling can freely discuss the most sensitive of issues in a protective and caring environment, safe in the knowledge that his, or her, identity and issues will not be divulged externally.
This Policy of Confidentiality also extends to our EAP Service and we guarantee that:

  • Client records and all documentation in relation to clients are coded using a reference number so that their identity remains confidential.
  • Information will not be given to an employer, without written consent.
  • In the case of management referral, we will only inform the company of whether the client attended sessions or not.
  • Reports, written or otherwise, will not be furnished to third parties.
  • The company receives a breakdown of the numbers attending the Service, grades of staff, age profiles, length of service and types of issues presented for statistical purposes only.

It is essential to emphasise that confidentiality is the keystone of our Independent Counselling, EAP and CISM Services.

Counsellors

Abate Counselling & EAP Limited’s Counsellors operate from the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and ethical behaviour and adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and Practices, as laid down by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Abate Counselling & EAP Limited’s Critical Incident Stress Management Counsellors adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and Practices of the IACP or equivalent and are accredited with the International Stress Management Association.
Our Counsellors:

  • Have undergone professional training on an IACP approved course
  • Have graduated with a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy
  • Attend regular supervision

Abate Counselling & EAP Limited can offer you a choice of male or female Counsellors. We have a network of Counsellors nationwide that are highly qualified in areas such as cognitive therapy, addictions, integretative and humanistic therapy and Gestalt therapy.
Many of our Counsellors also have additional qualifications in Stress Management, Nursing, Social Work, Coaching, etc. Our skilled and experienced counsellors are always on hand to help you deal with and address your issues – this is mirrored by our company motto: “There for you when you need us.”

What happens

You will be listened to.
You will be given a code number to protect your confidentiality.
Within 24 hours of the initial call, Abate Counselling & EAP Limited will locate a suitable counsellor.
The counsellor will contact you to arrange an appointment within 5 working days.
In relation to EAP clients companies/organisations will not know the names of those using the Service, which is completely confidential. Client and counsellor will meet for up to six sessions, or as agreed with the employing company/organisation.
