Is the Service Confidential?
Abate Counselling & EAP Limited operates from the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and ethical behaviour.
All our counsellors follow a strict Professional Code of Ethics as laid down by the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP).
Our Policy of Confidentiality ensures that any individual using the Service can freely discuss the most sensitive of issues, safe in the knowledge that this or her identity and issues will not be divulged externally.
In exceptional circumstances where life, or the safety of others is threatened, or where criminal activity is involved, this confidentiality may be waived. In these circumstances the client will be informed and this information is given with their full knowledge and preferably his written consent.
Are there records kept?
Yes. However our all client record keeping procedures conform with the Data Protection Act and are maintained in order to provide a professional, effective, and confidential service.
How long does a counselling session last?
Your counselling session lasts for one hour
How many counselling sessions am I entitled to?
You are entitled to six EAP counselling sessions per year.
Can I choose a male or female counsellor?
Yes. You have a choice of male or female counsellors nationwide.

It is recommended that you leave a contact number that you are comfortable taking a call from, so that we can arrange an appointment for you without delay.
Can I work with your therapists privately if I'm not covered by EAP?
Yes you absolutely can, by getting in touch we will give you access to and choice of all our 150 counselors. This can take the stress out of needing to get a recommendation or looking someone up yourself. Our therapists charge €60.00-€65.00 per session.
