Are there records kept?

Yes. However our all client record keeping procedures conform with the Data Protection Act and are maintained in order to provide a professional, effective, and confidential service.

Is the Service Confidential?

Abate Counselling & EAP Limited operates from the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and ethical behaviour.

All our counsellors follow a strict Professional Code of Ethics as laid down by the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP).

Our Policy of Confidentiality ensures that any individual using the Service can freely discuss the most sensitive of issues, safe in the knowledge that this or her identity and issues will not be divulged externally.

In exceptional circumstances where life, or the safety of others is threatened, or where criminal activity is involved, this confidentiality may be waived. In these circumstances the client will be informed and this information is given with their full knowledge and preferably his written consent.

How long does a counselling session last?

Your counselling session lasts for one hour

How many counselling sessions am I entitled to?

You are entitled to six EAP counselling sessions per year.

Can I choose a male or female counsellor?

Yes. You have a choice of male or female counsellors nationwide.
